Sophie and I founded Bamboo baBy in 2006 with the aim of offering contemporary and design led children's wear with minimum impact on the environment.  Our fashion led baby and children's clothing collections are beautifully designed and beautifully natural.

We offer a wide range of high quality designer baby clothing for ages 0-7 years in many gorgeous colours and styles.

Our first small collection was designed by Sophie as her final collection for her fashion degree at Kingston University. Our range of baby and children's clothes has now expanded to include super soft denim jeans, knitwear, body suits, t-shirts and underwear. Our classic styles have proved to be really popular but children and parents also love the more funky and contemporary styles.

Bamboo baBy

At Bamboo baBy we use organic bamboo & organic cotton in our baby clothes. Bamboo has an amazing softness and hypo-allergic properties that make it ideal for babies delicate skin. It is also very absorbent and great for keeping babies warm when it is cold and cool when it is warm. Sophie and I are both passionate about the properties and sustainability of bamboo. Bamboo is a grass and it grows quickly without the need for pesticides and water- making it a more eco friendly alternative to conventional cotton. It is also great for reducing environmental damage including soil erosion and global warming.

We also ensure that our fabrics, which include bamboo and cotton, are ethically and organically produced, using a number of certification and standards tools, including Oeko Tex 100 and GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standards). We also employ a member of SEDEX, the supplier ethical data exchange, as a full time agent to manage social compliance and to ensure that our garment factories adhere to local labour laws.

We are also committed to running an ethical and eco friendly business in many other ways - including using minimal recycled and biodegradable packaging and using 100% renewable energy in our office. We also donate a percentage of our turnover to charity - usually an environmental or children's charity.

Like so many running their own fashion labels, Sophie and I initially managed to run Bamboo baBy whilst holding down full time jobs. This has meant that there has been little time for traditional marketing - instead we keep in contact with our customers through our blog, Twitter and Facebook page. We also love meeting customers face to face at trade shows and markets around London.
