What is Bamboo baBy?
Bamboo baBy is the home of gorgeous organic designer kids clothes for girls and boys aged 0-7. Sophie and Chloe are the brains behind the Bamboo baBy brand – sisters who ditched their boring full-time jobs so they could design and make fabulous organic kids clothes for you – hurray!
All about Sophie
Sophie is the creative mind behind Bamboo baby and comes up with all our lovely designs. Our first collection was actually designed by Sophie as her final collection for her fashion degree at Kingston University. Sophie loves designing clothes for kids because they are much more fun and she gets to be a lot more creative than she would designing clothes for grownups.
You can usually find Sophie surrounded by brightly coloured pens or behind a computer screen, sketching out ideas for new designs. Sophie loves Zumba, all things arty and spending time with her little dog Arnie!
All about Chloe
Chloe is the business half of Bamboo baBy and is often described as the ‘sensible one’. She’s a bit of a bossy boots and is usually telling everyone where to stand and how to pose on our photoshoots. Chloe looks after all the business side of running the company including the boring bits like finances as well as looking after our lovely customers.
When she’s not working hard on Bamboo baBy, Chloe is usually reading or cooking and is interested in everything to do with nutrition.
All about Us
As a small family-run business, we like to give back to our community whenever we can. We support some fabulous charities and are particularly interested in environmental and children’s charities. If you know of a charity that would be a good fit with Bamboo baBy, please let us know!
We make sure all our fabrics are ethically produced and are GOTS certified (techy term that means our fabric producers are paid fairly and never use child labour). Our super helpful agent at SEDEX (The Supplier Ethical Data Exchange) helps us to make sure all our garment factories are run safely and ethically. Our clothing is all Oeko Tex 100 certified to make sure you get super organic quality for your money!
We also try to be as eco-conscious as possible in running our business, using recycled and biodegradable packaging and 100% renewable energy in our office.

Why Bamboo?
Sophie learned about the magical properties of Bamboo fabric while studying fashion design at university and now we wouldn’t want to make our clothes out of anything else! We believe that we should look after our planet so that it is a nice place for our little ones to grow up in and we’re trying to do our bit by using organic and sustainable fabrics in our clothing.
Bamboo grows amazingly fast and so it is a naturally sustainably material – no waiting 50 years for a bamboo forest to grow back after you chop it down! As it grows so fast and so well, no chemicals like pesticides or fertilisers are needed to support it so it is naturally organic.
As well as being sustainable and organic, bamboo is also naturally antibacterial (so it doesn’t get smelly), thermo-regulating (so it keeps you cool in summer and warm in winter) and non-irritating (perfect for sensitive baby skin and eczema sufferers).
